Jello!!!

I had made jello for dinner the other day and while I was on the computer Kaden was really quiet.  I called him and asked what he was doing.  He runs in the livingroom and just looks at me, then I see the hands...  they are bright red and I know exactly what he was doing.  Here are the pictures:

Father's Day

For father's day weekend there was a father/son campout for church, so Blake and Kaden went on that while I stayed home and should have done something fun for myself but instead baked cookies all night for the father's at church for Father's Day.  Anyway, I told Blake that he needed to take Kaden for the night again so I can go do something fun instead of bake 100+ cookies.  Here is a picture from the campout that I really liked.

So on Father's Day, I got Blake two books on hikes.  One for hikes in Yellowstone and the other around Jackson, because he wants to continue a tradition that he had with his dad on Father's Day which was to go on a hike.  I don't really like to hike a whole lot but I agreed to at least a once a year hike.  So I got these books so we could find a nice easy hike that day.  It was a .9 mile hike up hill to a overlook of a lake.  It wasn't as bad as I thought, so I might be willing to try another one in the same year!  But it was also the shortest one in the book so I don't know.  The next hike might put me out for the rest of the year.  Although, I loved the gorgeous nature that was so green.  The overlook was beautiful too.  It is called Phelps Lake.  So anyone who comes to visit and wants to go on a little hike.  I'll take you there.  Kaden loved the hike too.  But he got it easy.  Daddy carried him in his pack the whole way.  We tried to get him out and walk the last little bit back to the car but he refused to walk and wanted back in.  He was like "nice try parents, I ain't walking when I can ride."  It also started raining on the way up the hill so we busted out the umbrella for Kaden.  There are pictures below:

Last Weekend

This Friday the youth from church went to the temple then we all went out to Wingers for a late dinner around 9:30 pm.  Kaden got to spend a couple hours with cousin Brittany and her roommates.  It sounded like he had fun.  He told me they went to the park and watched the bucket fill up with water and then fall down, ate pizza, bread sticks, orange candy, and suckers.  Those were his words.  We picked him up and brought him to Wingers too.  Then journeyed home arriving at 12:15 am.  What a late night but lots of fun with the youth.  For those who don't know I am the 1st counsler in the young women's program.  I am over the 14 and 15 year olds.  I love it.
Then on Saturday we had the privledge of having Great Grandma and Grandpa Garrett visit us and stay the night.  They watched Kaden while Blake and I went on a date to the movie Night at the Musuem 2.  It was a good movie.  Not as good as the 1st one but it was good.  Then we came home and ate dinner and played Mexican Train with the grandparents.  Thanks for coming Grandma and Grandpa, we loved having you over!!!  Just wish you could have stayed longer.

String Lake

A couple Saturday's ago, we went to String Lake which is about a 30 min. drive into Teton National Park.  We had a picnic by the water while throwing rocks into the lake.  Then we blew up our little raft and paddled out to a big rock in the middle of the lake then tried to paddle back but the wind was against us and so we weren't go anyway fast.  We ended up paddling to the side and walking back to our stuff.  Then on our drive home we saw a moose and Kaden wanted to look through the binaculars like dad.

Memorial Day Outing

It has taken me about 3 hours to figure out how to get pictures on here correctly but I figured it out and now I might actually keep this blog up to date more often.

So for Memorial Day we decided to go take a drive into the mountains and have a picnic.  As we were driving we saw four female elk.  Then we found a spot to eat and went on a little hike exploring and Kaden did awesome.  It was a pretty steep hillside and he walked down it and then almost all the way back up.  What a trooper.  Then Blake wittled away on a stick while Kaden played in the dirt.  I love living in Jackson.  It is so beautiful here and so much wildlife.

This is a beautiful view of the Tetons.  This is where I live!! I get to see this everyday I'm out running errands.  This spot we are at is only about 10 or 15 min. away from our house.  Isn't that awesome!!!  We see wildlife all the time.  Deer, elk, moose, buffalo, and other smaller animals.  Although, it is very weird to live in a tourist town when it is tourist season.  As I drive through town square and see all the people walking around I think to myself "All these people are coming here to visit because it is a beautiful place and an awesome vacation spot... and I am living here?!!!  Crazy!

Campfire

So we created a little fire pit in our backyard and have had a few fires roasting hot dogs and marshmellows.  Last night we had a couple of friends over to roast and Kaden saw us roasting marshmellows so he went and found a stick (more like a twig) and went over the the marshmellows, grabbed one and stuck it on, then held it next to the fire.  It was so cute.

THE SNOW IS GOING AWAY!!!!

The snow is pretty much all gone!!!  There is only a few piles in our front yard but the back yard is all grass.  Hurray!!!!  It is so happy.  So this last weekend we participated in the homeshow here in Jackson for our Log Care business.  It went pretty well.  We got 16 names that want us to come look at their home and give them an estimate.  Here are pictures of our booth:

Kaden spent the two days at his friends, Ethan's house and loved it.  I went to pick him up each night and he didnt' want to leave even after being there all day.  Then we saw a herd of elk next to the highway and across the street three moose.  That was Saturday and Sunday we were driving over the pass and saw three more moose.  I love the wildlife here is Jackson, it is awesome.

Babysitting

Today was my first day of babysitting two 3 year olds.  I am trying this out for a lady in my ward who needs a babysitter Wednesday and Thurdays from 9:30am to 2:30 pm.  So that means my 2 year old little boy and two 3 year olds a boy and a girl.  It went really well.  They just played with toys all morning then ate lunch, I read them books and then put them to bed.  So now they are sleeping and the dad should be here to pick them up before they wake up.  Easy enough.  It is very interesting though to see the difference in knowledge between my little boy Kaden and the other two.  The little boy Tray, had some foam numbers and was saying that they were different letters like G, B, etc.  Where Kaden knows the difference between letters and numbers and even knows almost all of the letters.  It just shows me how important it is to have a mother at home teaching the little ones.  These two little kids aren't brother and sister.  The mom and dad have the girl and the boy is a friend of theirs.  So the dad watching the kids everyday except for Friday the mom is home, but Wed and Thur the dad works while I will be watching them.  Anyway, enough with all that.  I'm just glad that I can stay home and teach my little boy.

These are moose that were 3 houses down from ours.  They were just eating branches off the trees.  It was pretty cool.  Blake walked out the door to go to the store then a minute later he walked back in and told us to get our coats and shoes on to go see some moose.  This is the kind of things we see living in Jackson.
