Father’s Day

For father’s day weekend there was a father/son campout for church, so Blake and Kaden went on that while I stayed home and should have done something fun for myself but instead baked cookies all night for the father’s at church for Father’s Day.  Anyway, I told Blake that he needed to take Kaden for the night again so I can go do something fun instead of bake 100+ cookies.  Here is a picture from the campout that I really liked.

So on Father’s Day, I got Blake two books on hikes.  One for hikes in Yellowstone and the other around Jackson, because he wants to continue a tradition that he had with his dad on Father’s Day which was to go on a hike.  I don’t really like to hike a whole lot but I agreed to at least a once a year hike.  So I got these books so we could find a nice easy hike that day.  It was a .9 mile hike up hill to a overlook of a lake.  It wasn’t as bad as I thought, so I might be willing to try another one in the same year!  But it was also the shortest one in the book so I don’t know.  The next hike might put me out for the rest of the year.  Although, I loved the gorgeous nature that was so green.  The overlook was beautiful too.  It is called Phelps Lake.  So anyone who comes to visit and wants to go on a little hike.  I’ll take you there.  Kaden loved the hike too.  But he got it easy.  Daddy carried him in his pack the whole way.  We tried to get him out and walk the last little bit back to the car but he refused to walk and wanted back in.  He was like “nice try parents, I ain’t walking when I can ride.”  It also started raining on the way up the hill so we busted out the umbrella for Kaden.  There are pictures below:
